Learn More About What Your Body May Be Telling You
Hormone Testing and Blood Draws.
Hormone testing through a simple blood draw can provide valuable information about your hormone levels and help identify potential hormonal imbalances. Our testing may be appropriate for women experiencing symptoms associated with thyroid imbalance, PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), premenopause, perimenopause, or post menopause, as well as for men experiencing symptoms associated with andropause or low testosterone. Hormone testing can evaluate levels of hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid, DHEA and other hormones that may influence menstrual cycles, fertility, energy, mood, metabolism, sexual health, and overall well-being. Testing is individualized based on your symptoms, age, health history, and concerns, helping your healthcare provider better understand your hormonal health and determine appropriate next steps.

What to expect
01
Discuss your concerns
Bring your questions, relevant previous lab reports, and a list of medications and supplements. Discuss the changes you have noticed and what you hope to learn.
02
Plan your testing
Confirm the recommended tests, collection location, preparation instructions, and cost with our team before scheduling your sample collection.
03
Review next steps
Ask how and when your results will be reviewed. Your clinician can explain what the findings mean and whether follow-up testing or care is appropriate.
Common questions
Do I need to fast before a blood test?
Some tests require fasting; many do not. Follow the instructions for your specific test. Tell your clinician about medications and supplements, and do not stop prescribed medication unless instructed.
Should I collect a hair sample at home?
Contact the team first. The collection method, amount of hair, and preparation depend on the test and laboratory. Mention recent coloring, bleaching, or other hair treatments.
How long do results take, and what does testing cost?
Timing and fees depend on the tests and laboratory. Ask our team about current availability, expected turnaround, payment, and any insurance questions before proceeding.
Will I need both blood and hair testing?
Not necessarily. Your clinician can help choose testing based on the question being investigated and the usefulness of each test. A consultation helps establish an appropriate starting point.
