Treatment Plan
At our wellness center we offer wide variety of chemical peels such as Zo 3 Step Peels, VI Peel Precision Plus that can help to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation and sun damage. Chemical peels are a type of exfoliation treatment that use a solution of acids to remove the top layers of dead skin cells, revealing smoother, brighter, and more even-toned skin. Here’s how our chemical peels can help with hyperpigmentation and sun damage:
1: Chemical exfoliation: We use a combination of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and/or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to exfoliate the skin. These acids help to break down and remove the top layers of dead skin cells, which can improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation and sun damage.
2: Targeted ingredients: Chemical peels contain targeted ingredients such as lactic acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid, which can help to lighten dark spots, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve overall skin texture.
3: Customizable formulations: We offers a range of chemical peels with varying concentrations of acids to meet the specific needs of different skin types and concerns. Our Medical Doctor will recommend the most appropriate peel for an individual’s skin.
4: Minimal downtime: Chemical peels typically have minimal downtime, meaning that individuals can return to their daily activities relatively quickly after the treatment. However, it’s important to follow post-treatment instructions provided by the skincare professional to avoid irritation or complications.
Overall, at our wellness center peels can be an effective treatment option for improving the appearance of hyperpigmentation and sun damage. The targeted ingredients and customizable formulations allow for a personalized approach to treatment, while the minimal downtime makes it a convenient option for many people.
On the day of your visit, you will meet with our Medical Doctor, She will evaluate your skin and recommend the right peel for you. It’s important to consult with our MD to determine if a chemical peel is right for an individual’s specific skin concerns and needs.
Treatment Plan
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments can be an effective way to treat sun damage on the skin. Sun damage can cause a variety of skin concerns, such as hyperpigmentation (dark spots), redness, and fine lines and wrinkles.
During an IPL treatment, a hand-held device emits pulses of light that penetrate the skin’s surface and target areas of hyperpigmentation and redness. The light energy is absorbed by the pigments in the skin, causing the pigments to break down and fade over time.
The heat from the IPL treatment also stimulates collagen production, which can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin texture.
IPL treatments are typically performed in a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, with the number of treatments needed depending on the severity of the sun damage and the individual’s skin type and goals. IPL treatments can be customized to target specific areas of concern, such as the face, chest, or hands.
Treatment Plans
Sun damage to the skin is primarily caused by ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Sunscreens that contain SPF (Sun Protection Factor) work by blocking or absorbing these UV rays, which can help to prevent sunburn, skin aging, and skin cancer.
SPF works by creating a barrier on the skin that reflects or absorbs UV radiation from the sun. There are two types of UV radiation that can damage the skin: UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin and are responsible for causing premature aging, wrinkles, and age spots, while UVB rays cause sunburn and are the primary cause of skin cancer.
SPF is a measure of how well a sunscreen can protect the skin against UVB rays. For example, an SPF 30 sunscreen will block about 97% of UVB rays, while an SPF 50 sunscreen will block about 98% of UVB rays. However, it’s important to note that no sunscreen can block 100% of UV rays.
Regular use of SPF can help to prevent sun damage to the skin, including sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer. However, it’s important to use sunscreen properly and to reapply it regularly, especially when spending time outdoors. We carry Zo Skin care line that offers multiple sunblocks. Retinol and Retin A (Tretinoin) are a class of Vitamin A derivatives that have many benefits in skin. They are known for their anti-aging benefits. One of the ways that they can help to treat sun damage is by increasing cell’s turnover and promoting the growth of new, healthy skin cells.
When skin is exposed to UV radiation from the sun, it can cause damage to the skin cells, leading to the development of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven texture. Vitamin A derivatives can help to counteract this damage by encouraging the skin to shed its outermost layer of dead skin cells more quickly, revealing fresher, brighter skin underneath. They also have brightening effects by suppressing melanin production in the skin.
Tretinoin/Retinol can also help to stimulate the production of collagen, which is a key protein that gives skin its strength and elasticity. As we age and our skin is exposed to sun damage and other environmental stressors, collagen production naturally decreases, leading to the development of fine lines and wrinkles. By promoting collagen production, Tretinoin can help to improve skin texture and firmness.
Vitamin C, Hydroquinone, Kojic acid are also highly recommended for treatment of sunspots and hyperpigmentation.
